Raquel Welch with Tony Franciosa Fathom original 1967 11x14 lobby card

Now blond, and known as “Tony“, Franciosa appears in Fathom (1967) with Raquel Welch. Nobody expects “Fathom” to be a masterpiece. But that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be made. Why not have a skydiving movie, with lots of great footage of skydivers floating through the air, and lots of great footage of Raquel Welch? It could be fun. You can only be ponderous so long, and then you need to look at someone like Raquel Welch for awhile. It’s good for you. But when Raquel Welch speaks, she sounds like every drive-in waitress and every beauty queen and every female high school class president and every not-very-bright good sport you ever heard.
