Q: Whatever happened to Carol, the “girl with the horn-rimmed glasses,” on the old “Shindig!” show? Is she still alive?

A: Carole Shelyne, the singer and dancer known for her horn-rimmed glasses on the 1964-66 pop music series, was enough of a sensation to even record a song The Girl With the Horn-Rimmed Glasses. (You can hear it, and see her performing the tune on Shindig!, on YouTube.)

After that series, she focused on acting and, for more than 30 years has been an acting teacher. She has her own company, Carolyne Barry Creative Ent., and is author of the book Hit the Ground Running: The First Years of Your Acting Career.
