‘Maya’ and ‘Hold On!’
The New York Times. Published: June 23, 1966

METRO-GOLDWYN-MAYER released two feature-length films in color for the kiddies to local houses yesterday. The first and better of the two is “Maya,” an adventure tale set in the Indian jungle. … The other is “Hold On!,” an occasionally amusing but nonsensical pastiche that barely qualifies as the cement to hold together the song sequences of Herman’s Hermits, a reasonably subdued quintet of long-haired Britons who wriggle and sing to rock ‘n’ roll rhythms.
